Set in the heart of downtown Tacoma, Hotel Murano is more than a boutique stay, it’s a canvas for emerging talent. Our collaboration with local artists and the lobby’s Barlow Gallery has long championed fresh voices, and in early 2025 we took it further by launching our first Artist-in-Residence program. We want to see your work! As part of our mission to celebrate creativity and community, we’re inviting artists to share their vision and be part of a living, breathing gallery experience in the center of the city’s creative pulse.
Current resident: Tacoma artist Lisa Daniel curates her work in a dedicated gallery just off Bite, offering a dynamic, year-round exhibit. Guests and locals are invited to special events to meet Lisa and explore her creative process up close.
Submission deadline is October 31, 2025.
Artist Deliverables:
- Create a collection of original works to exhibit in a 600 sq ft gallery for one year
- Minimum of 12 completed pieces required
- Be available for media interviews coordinated by the hotel
- Share and document residency experience on personal social media
- All displayed artwork will be available for sale in the gallery
Hotel Deliverables:
- Ongoing media outreach and artist promotion
- Dedicated gallery space for the year-long exhibit
- Local introductions to existing gallery partners and network of creative partners in Tacoma
